Our Bobcats played with 100% intensity from the opening tip to the final buzzer, holding off a furious fourth quarter rally by East Lake.  Junior Darmesha Washington led all scorers with 21  points while sophomore Camille Frederick added 16.  The Bobcats will open Florida State Regional Tournament at home this Thursday evening.

1/31 vs Riverview
Whew! Our Lady Bobcat basketball team pulled out a huge win last night in the District 8 basketball tournament, defeating rival Riverview by one point, 44-43. The Bobcats played from behind the entire game and took the lead only once, with about 10 seconds remaining in the contest. We didn’t win the game by shooting well from the free throw line, we didn’t win the game by out-rebounding Riverview, we didn’t win the game with fantastic outside shooting, and we didn’t win the game with tremendous defense; we won the game because our kids just don’t quit….our kids have HUGE hearts. Thank you for all of your support this season….I know the girls really appreciate it!

1/11 vs Bishop Verot
It was a struggle, but the Lady Bobcat basketball team pulled through with a 59-51 overtime over Bishop Verot last night in Fort Myers. Tired legs after playing 3 games in 4 days contributed to the second loss of the young season. Sarasota jumped out to a 18 to 4 first quarter lead that the Bobcats could never recover from. The Bobcats shot a dismall 7 for 49 from the field to go along with 26 turnovers. Not one of our better preformances. Put it behind and move on to Lakewood Ranch!
